A-30-year old bodaboda operator is nursing serious injuries after he was involved in road accident at Makutano in Mwala, Machakos County on Saturday.
The man sustained head and leg injuries after he rammed into a stationary lorry that had blocked his way along Makutano - Masii Road.
According to an eyewitness Mbili Musembi, the accident could have been avoided if the vehicle's driver had given way to the motorcyclist.
"If only drivers would be conscious of other road users, then such unnecessary road accidents would be avoided," Musembi said.
Musembi urged the Machakos County Government to build a dispensary in the area to cater for emergencies.
"We were forced to rush the victim to a private hospital since there is no public hospital around, the Machakos County Government should consider constructing a health facility in this area to avert the situation," Musembi said.
He said the lorry's driver escaped unscathed.
