Kamau said that the rise in pregnancies among minors has been contributed by bodaboda operators who give them free rides.

Speaking on Friday at Ikinu shopping Center, Githunguri constituency during a public meeting, Kamau said that operators who would flout his warning risk their motorcycles bding confiscated and arraigned in court.

“Bodaboda operators have caused a great menace to school-going girls by impregnating them and abandoning them, if they do not stop their mischievous tricks, then they will face the full wrath of law,” warned the chief.

Kamau further advised young girls that they should not be lured into the riders’ traps, saying they should concentrate with their studies first.

“Those bodaboda operators should leave the girls to concentrate with their academic pursuit,” added Kamau.

His remarks come after an outcry by local parents over high increase in pregnancies among school-going girls.

“I have received three cases of girls who have been impregnated by bodaboda operators and I am deeply concerned,” added the chief.

Kamau also accused parents of abandoning their parental responsibilities.

“Parents do not have time with their children to discuss the problems facing them and offering solutions, make sure you create time for you and your children,” said Kamau.
