Kiambu Nominated MCA Madam Mary Mwangi has criticized the increased number of insecurity in Thika town as a result of Bodaboda operators terming them as the devils in disguise.
The MCA expressed her concerns this festive season where she has witnessed bodaboda operators stealing from the residents and customers in pretence of serving their clients.
“They pretend to transport you from one place to another but take you to a hidden place and steal from you,” She said.
She condemned the Kiandutu based cyclist who allegedly transport armed robbers from the slums to the town to perform their heinous act saying they are accomplices as well.
She said that the cyclists have unveiled their true colors and most of the residents’ fear them especially during late hours citing the previous incident where a woman was allegedly murdered by Bodaboda operators on her way home in Thika town.
“Just the other day a woman was killed by gangs who were on a motorcycle and steal her valuables on her way home,” said the MCA.
Madam Mwangi has however challenged the cyclist to restore their reputations in future and should work towards satisfying the needs of their customers.
The legislator has condemned the increased insecurity in Kiandutu and Makongeni where mysterious death often occurs but the residents hide the perpetrators of the inhuman act.
She has however hailed Thika west OCPD shadrack Maithya for exclusive effort to tame insecurity, immorality and drug and substance abuse in the sub county.
She has urged her counterparts MCAs to work hand in hand with the residents of the grassroots to tame insecurity this festive season.
The law maker was speaking on Friday during the graduation ceremony of Bodaboda operators in Thika town.
