Limuru Sub County traffic Commandant Mohammed Bakuli has asked bodaboda operators to adhere to traffic regulations.

Speaking at his office on Sunday, the commander warned that stern action will be taken against errant operators.

Bakuli raised concerns over what he said as increased accidents involving motorcycles.

“Bodaboda operators have no option but adhere to rules and regulations,” he said.

The traffic commandant said they are working with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to implement traffic regulations.

He added that more security laws meant to streamline the bodaboda sector are in the offing.

At the same time, the commander cautioned motorists against speeding while using the Limuru-Naivasha-Nakuru road.

He said they are monitoring the situation and would take action against speeding drivers.

On Sunday, a pedestrian was knocked down by a speeding motorist. According to police, the victim died on the spot as the driver of the Toyota Hilux vehicle sped off.

Police have in the meantime launched a manhunt for the killer driver.
