Bodaboda operators in Nakuru town have raised their voice to condemn cases of insecurity in the town and its environs.
They say that in the past few weeks, many operators have been robbed of their motorcycles among other valuables while at work, and are now urging the county government to improve the state of security, which continue deteriorating every day.
In a recent case, a bodaboda operator was robbed of his motorcycle in Kaptembwo estate with two men that he picked in town.
Frank Okelo, a bodaboda operator in the town claim that there is a group of two people who are terrorizing the operators.
He noted that all victims have given the description of the two men, who are said to be armed with a pistol.
“It seems to be a group of people who rob us motorbikes as every body who has been robbed claim to be robbed by two men who are armed with a pistol,” said Okelo.
William Onditi, a victim of robbery said he was robbed of his motorbike near Gioto dump two months ago by two men, who were armed with a pistol.
“I picked two men in town taking them to Kiamunyi but turned against me while at Gioto dump and left with my new kingbird,” he said.
He urged the police to increase patrols in the town and its environs to curb the vice which is on the rise.
