Bodaboda operators in Machakos town have been warned against carrying unlicensed weapons since it is against the law.
This was said by Machakos township chief Joshua Kimeu while confirming an incident where a bodaboda operator was stabbed by his colleague in Machakos town after a disagreement.
According to him, the bodaboda operators started fighting over a customer when the fight turned worsened and one of them took a knife and stabbed his colleague in the neck.
"These two who were trying to lure a customer disagreed as each wanted to carry the customer where they started fighting hence one being stabbed by the other in the neck," said Kimeu.
The assailant was badly beaten by other bodaboda operators before he was saved by the police and taken to Machakos police station.
Kimeu disclosed that many bodaboda operators have weapons that they carry not aware that its against the law where he warned whoever will be found having an illegal weapon will be prosecuted.
The one who got stabbed is receiving treatment at Machakos level five hospital.
