This is after one bodaboda rider identified as John Mwaniki was nabbed transporting two-twenty litres jerricans of chang'aa on Monday from Kang'oki dumpsite which had been put in a sack.

The rider who had attempted to flee was nabbed after residents raised alarm and was waylaid on Kiganjo-Makongeni road by administration police who arrested him.

"He is a notorious transporter of chang'aa and we decided to raise alarm after seeing him coming from Kang'ooki for many days and we became suspicious," said Lydia Wanjiku, a shopkeeper along Kang'oki road.

Waiguru promised to deal with the transporters and the brewers of the illicit brews.

"We will not spare anyone involved in the illicit brew business. It doesn't matter where they hide but we will go for them," said Waiguru.

He added: "I urge the bodaboda people to counter-check what they are asked to transport in Jerri cans to avoid being caught on the wrong side of the law."

The suspect was later handed over to the Makongeni Police Station for further interrogations.
