A bodaboda rider was on Monday sentenced to death by an Eldoret court after he was found guilty of raping a 21 year old student.
The suspect, Nixon Ndayi, faced another charge for allegedly robbing the student off her mobile phone, laptop and Sh150.
Principal magistrate Charles Obulutsa ruled that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that Andayi committed the offense.
"Following the evidence presented in this court, I find the accused guilty of the offences and is sentenced to death", ruled Obulutsa as quoted by Nairobi news.
"He will be furnished with copies of witness reports and has 14 days to appeal", he added.
Andayi is said to have committed the rape and robbery in Eldoret town on 20th July, 2013 where he robbed the laptop, mobile phone and Sh150 totaling to Sh43,150.
