A bodaboda rider sustained serious injuries after losing control of his bike along the Thika-Garrisa road.
The rider crashed head on with a salon car on Sunday as he was heading to Matuu.
Traffic police at the scene said that the bodaboda operator, on reaching the junction, he collided with the car which was speeding leaving the cyclist severely injured.
The police source gave the name of the cyclist as Daniel Mwaka 31, who was injured and rushed to Thika level 5 Hospital where he was admitted in a serious but stable condition.
According to Samuel Kamau, an eyewitness, the motorist had not indicated he was turning left or right thus colliding with the cyclist who was speeding at the junction.
The driver, James Otieno, was not injured in the process and refuted the allegations of not indicating.
He told the press that the bodaboda operator was on a high speed and he thought he would slow down when he bumped into his car accidentally.
Following the incident, Benedict Mwangangi, Thika west traffic boss said that he has apprehended the driver who broke traffic rules and is in police custody as further investigations are underway.
Mwangangi said that the law will be vigilant on the traffic rule breakers where he said accidents are alarming this festive season.
He has urged the motorists and Bodaboda operators to be keen when driving in the Thika super highway.
