The operators are now afraid that their customers are opting to use matatus and taxis to and from their places of work to avoid the cold associated with the use of motorbikes during the cold seasons.

“Business is now going down since the rains started. Residents usually use motorbikes to and from their places of work but since the onset of rains most people have opted to use vehicles and taxis to escape the cold associated with the use of bodaboda during the cold season,” said Edwin Ngoge, a motorbike rider.

“I do not enjoy the business during rainy season since it is very hard to get customers. Customers believe during rainy seasons riders cause accidents due to sliding on the roads. I wished if I will get another job the whole of this rainy season,” said David Nzioki, another bodaboda rider.

Residents said that they will not board motorbikes since they get exposed to cold which affects their health status.
