Speaking after a consultative meeting with officers from the county on Friday, Nyanza Boda Boda Network chairman Nelson Odire said they want the relationship between the officers and the riders to be good.

Odire said they want to make sure that cases of insecurity are reduced these festive seasons.

He said in their meeting with the security officials, they talked on issues of insecurity within the county and how they can be curbed.

Odire said there has always been a lot of confusion amongst the members of the public with some speculating that the riders are the thieves robbing them daily hence it has not created a good relationship between them and police officers.

He said even though most robbers use motorcycle to get away, they are also victims because they are also killed by same robbers.

“It does not mean that when thieves use Boda Boda to get are way they are part Boda Boda operators”, said Odire.

He said they have also resolved amongst themselves to work together as a team and to always report any suspicion to the police instead of taking matters in their own hands.

“The riders should obey the law and do what is required and let the police officers also do their part”, said the chairman.
