Tuktuk operators claim that the bodaboda operators have been a stumbling block to their business as they pick passengers from their stage.

On the other hand, the bodaboda operators accuse tuktuk operators on going against an earlier agreement that no tuktuk operator should pick passengers from Kokwas to town and vice versa.

Dickson Kakai, the chairman of bodaboda operators in Kokwas blamed insecurity for their problems.

“Our previous stage was insecure and that’s the reason why we moved to reduce theft cases. Our business in now being interrupted by tuktuk operators,” said Kakai.

According to Evans Kang’ethe, a representative of the tuktuk operators in Ndupawa, they do not wait for the passengers at Kokwas, but it is because of their affordable prices that the passengers prefer using their services.

The dispute has been ongoing for over a year but may come to an end if a proposed new agreement is adhered to.
