Bodies of two fishermen who drowned on Monday evening in Lake Naivasha have been recovered.
According to the Beach Management Unit chairperson David Kilo, the two were engaging in illegal fishing activities on the shores of the lake near the sprawling Kihoto area when they drowned.
"The bodies of the two fishermen have been recovered. They were not authorized to carry on the fishing activities in the lake," said Kilo.
He sounded the alarm over the increasing number of poachers.
"In the recent days illegal fishing has been on the rise. We have put measures to ensure fishing illegally in the lake ends because fishermen who lacks experience are taking advantage as beach management officials are away to carry on the illegal activities. Anyone found will be arrested and taken to court," he added.
