The women said the body of their beloved husband was collected from mortuary and was buried in Kinge village with their sons without their consent.

“I am the first wife and as by the Kisii customs our late husband must be buried at my home in Bonchari but it is unfortunate that some few people interfered with the burial plans and forced our sons to bury their father in Nyamira county ,” said the deceased wife identified as Bonareri.

Bonareri said her co-wife also was not involved in the burial plans something that made them to go to court to seek orders to exhume the body.

“I and my co-wife had to move to court to have the body exhumed so that our late husband can be laid to rest at the recommend place.

"I am happy the court issued orders and the body was exhumed to be buried afresh,” she noted.

Commenting on the matter, Nyamira County Commissioner Isaiah Nakoru said the body was exhumed and taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital mortuary.
