A missing 6-year-old boy was on Monday found dead in Likoni, Mombasa County inside a vehicle belonging to a bishop.
The deceased, Emmanuel Wasike, a pupil at Amurt academy in Likoni sub-county, went missing on Sunday.
The matter was reported on Sunday at Likoni police station by the boy’s parent when he went missing.
Likoni DCI boss Henry Ndombi who confirmed the incident said investigation into the matter has been launched.
The minor was found Monday morning on the back seat of the abandoned vehicle at Ushindi Baptist Church in Likoni, Mombasa.
According to Mr Ndombi, the boy was found dead inside Bishop Joseph Maisha’s car, a Toyota saloon parked outside the church premises.
Mr Ndombi said the body has no physical injury adding that they are yet to receive the bishop’s side as investigations continue to establish what or who killed the boy.
“We want to establish how did the kid get inside the car, the body has no physical injury there are so many things we are looking as per now, we want to get to the bottom,” said the DCI boss as quoted by Baraka FM.
The body was moved to Coast General morgue awaiting postmortem.
