The one week long such for a Kisii University student ended on Sunday morning after his lifeless body was found at Ogembo mortuary.
Mr Vincent Kipsang, a third year University student, had no physical injuries.
He went missing when the university was holding its 5th annual cultural week celebration.
According to his friends, they at first thought that the student had travelled home.
However, when his phone eventually went off it raised eyebrows and on contacting his parents they realised he was not at home.
"We were worried after his phone went off for five days, which is very unusual," said John Kiplangat, hus friend.
Kisii Dean of students Brother Francis Kerongo, said that during the cultural week four students including the late were reported missing.
"The dormitory caretaker, said that Victor's room remained closed for long which made him raise alarm," he said.
Confirming the incident, students leader Vinnie Gati, said they the deceases was a silent student.
"Victor was a peaceful student. We are also shocked by the death," said Gati.
Investigations to establish the cause of the death have been launched.
