Police in Kisauni are investigating a case where a five-year-old boy was discovered dead in a well on Sunday night.

The boy is said to have gone missing for close to one week.

Confirming the incident, Kisauni OCPD Richard Ngatia said the mother of the child, Zubeda Abdi, had reported about the missing child last week.

“Police officers were following up on leads when they discovered the child's body on Sunday,” said Ngatia.

The OCPD said that they will treat the case as a kidnapping.

He added that they were closing in on a group of suspects who are believed to be behind a series of kidnappings in the area.
