The body of a woman who went missing on Tuesday has been retrieved from a septic tank at Frere Town in Kisauni, Mombasa County. The deceased, Chari Ann Mungo, as she was later identified, was last seen alive on Tuesday while washing clothes. A witness who spoke to Baraka FM revealed that the deceased’s husband searched for her after she disappeared; leaving behind a basin with the clothes she was washing. The husband contacted all their relatives to inquire about Mungo’s whereabouts but none of them had seen her.“He called his relatives asking if at all they had seen her. However, she had not visited them,” said the eye witness, as quoted by the local daily.Mugo’s husband continued with the search and returned to Kadiriya village where she was last seen.He discovered a caved-in septic tank and alerted fire fighters in the area, who recovered the body from the tank.Kisauni OCPD Christopher Rotich confirmed the incident. It is suspected that the woman slipped and fell into the tank.
