Residents of Kenyambi village, Bogichora ward have called on the security department to beef up security in the area following rising cases of attacks on business people.
They are claiming a gang which has now terrorised them for the last three months is on the mission to ensure that they don't realise any development in terms of business.
One resident, who is also a businessman who sought anonymity for fear of attack, said that the rate at which insecurity is increasing has derailed the development in the area. He said the gang is targeting more so businessmen from without the locality and this has spread fear to other potential merchants who might be interested in the area.
"The rate of insecurity in our area has been escalating of late and this has derailed us economically has it forces us to close businesses as dusk beckons, the gang is also targeting the non-residents and people have been afraid to come here and operate businesses, we are calling on the security system in our county to up their game as the attackers are people known well to us," he said.
On Thursday last week, an angry mob lynched one of the suspected member of the terror gang who they said has been terrorizing people in the area and who has been on the run.
They said they would not hastate taking the law into their hands and eliminate the culprits if the police will not help.
