The Inspector General Joseph Boinett and DCI boss George Kinoti have strongly defended themselves against accusations that they acted in contempt of court by failing to present Miguna Miguna.
In a sworn affidavit, the two said that they released Miguna Miguna only for him to be arrested by sleuths from the immigration department.
In that respect, the sworn affidavit claimed, they did not bear any responsibility for the deportation of Miguna Miguna and asked the court to go after the immigration department.
Even so, Miguna Miguna lawyers have maintained that the two bosses must bear the responsibility for Miguna's deportation as they did not present him to court as demanded by a Nairobi court.
Judge Luka Kimaru had ordered for the presentation of Miguna Miguna by IG Boinet and George Kinoti, an order which was never honoured.
It would be interesting to see how the court will respond to the defence of the two in the coming days.
