The inspector general of police Joseph Boinett has ordered for the arrest of ODM youth leader Benson Musungu for misusing his firearm.
Musungu fired shots at the party headquarters on Wednesday to scare away a rowdy group.
This comes after chaos rocked the party headquarters when nominated senator Elizabeth Ongoro went to the ODM offices accompanied by a group of youths to demand for an explanation why her opponent Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang was given direct nominations.
Boinett said he will deal firmly with any politician who is in breach of Public Order Act during party primaries and the General election to be held on 8th of August this year.
While speaking on Thursday he warned that there will be no one exempted from the crack down.
"We have noticed a tendency of individuals firing in the air anyhow thereby causing unnecessary panic. Anybody falling a foul of the firarms Act will certaainily face the full force of the law," said Boinnett.
"We shall enforce all relevant laws with the necessary firmaness and impartially without favouring any persons irrespective of their political persuasion. We wish to remind political parties to comply with provisions of the Public Order Act and desist from actions that breach the law," he affirmed.
