The inspector general of police, Joseph Boinnet has congratulated Kenyans for upholding peace during the Easter season.
Boinnet said there have been less cases of crime as many Kenyans celebrated the Easter holidays. He also said both the police and Kenyans have worked together to ensure that the country experiences peace as they celebrated the holidays which came to an end on Monday.
Last year, the nation celebrated the Easter Holidays while they mourned the death of 147 students of Garissa University who were killed in the hands of the Al-Shabaab Militia group. In this year’s Easter holidays, the Kenyan security team assured Kenyans that security was very ready to deal with any person or anything that will cause interruption and disturbance to the peace of every Kenyan.
Boinnet also called on all Kenyans to uphold peace even after the Easter Holidays. He said Kenya should have peacekeeping citizens to achieve development of the nation.
Tina Mueni from Kibera also said it has been a nice holiday because she has not witnessed any chaos from Kibera or any other part of the country.
