According to ODM executive Director, Oduor Ong'wen, the fire was started by rivals to the party although the actual cause is yet to be established.

"Boinnet and the DCI must bring the culprits and perpetrators to justice," Ong'wen said in a statement on Sunday.

"We are convinced that this is the doing of our political opponents who are yet to come to terms with their rejection by the Maasai community."

Opposition leader Raila Odinga raised tensions weeks ahead of elections by criticising the Maasai community's sale of ancestral land to other ethnic groups in an area hit by political violence in the 1990s, land rights experts said.

Ong'wen said they will not allow perpetrators of violence to destroy gains made in strengthening political parties for the sake of prosperity.

"This kind of intimidation and power-flexing is outrageous and should be discouraged by peace loving Kenyans," he said.

He noted that vital documents including data were also destroyed in the fire.

Ong'wen said that the momentum being gained by NASA might be the reason behind the fire.
