Meru Jubilee Party Secretary General, Alhaji Mwenda, has urged Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, to ensure there is peace during and after the August 8, 2017 General Election.

The official has  said that there are criminal elements who are planning to disrupt peace during the electioneering period.

He called on the IG to deal with such elements accordingly.

 “I want to ask Boinnet to ensure that his officers are more alert so that no Kenyan loses his or her life as a result of politics,” said Mr Mwenda.

He also asked Kenyans  to maintain peace during this period.

"We want to ask Kenyans that no more blood should be shed because of politics in this country.”
