The audio tape, which went viral two weeks ago, is alleged to have contained the voice of Duale, where he is heard calling for the eviction of Kamba community living in Garissa.

However, Duale denied the allegations, going further to record a statement with Directorate of Criminal Investigations over the same.

He has maintained that the video is fake and was made by his political enemies who want to kill him politically.

Accprding to Boinnet, for such a case to progress, they need to have witnesses who can verify and ascertain that it was indeed the Garissa Township MP uttering those remarks.

“For such a case to progress, we must have a witness. We are appealing to anyone who was present when hate speech remarks are said to have been made in Garissa to report to DCI headquarters and provide information that would help in the investigations,” said Boinnet.

Boinnet had earlier indicated that the police would use voice experts to analyse the audio clip, adding that investigations were at an advanced stage and that Duale had recorded a statement with the authorities.
