The Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has refuted reports that his chopper was shot-at by armed bandits during his visit to Laikipia County, Saturday.
Boinnet termed the reports by some media houses, as hateful, saying he left the area safely after addressing a security meeting.
“Those are malicious and false reports. I went to Laikipia and held a security meeting with my officers and left. I was there for two hours and there was nothing like that,'' the IG said, according to Capital Fm news.
The National Police Service also dismissed the reports.
Assistant Inspector General of Police George Kinoti said the IG did not meet any hostility, as reported.
“At no time did the Inspector General and his entourage encounter any hostility of whatever kind or an attempt to shoot at the Police helicopter as reported by two newspapers,” Kinoti said in a statement.
