A Kiambu County legislator has lauded newly sworn in Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet for his swearing in and assuming office, saying that he might be the cure to all the insecurity problems in the country.
Thika township ward MCA Kennedy Mwangi said that he is delighted by the move by the President Uhuru Kenyatta to appoint a man who has not raised any suspicions among the public and the MPs who approved him.
He said that the long-standing insecurity challenges could be finally be a thing of the past by the collaboration between Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery and the new police boss, who was sworn in yesterday.
Speaking in his office, the legislator called on the leaders as well as the public to support the two officers fully in their fight against terrorism and insecurity, saying that the problems are meant to divide the Kenyans.
He added that the internal killings against the politicians who try to bring change in the country should be condemned and Kenyans should unite in support of the security organs.
He said that the people of Kenya will not be divided by anyone who thinks he is superior to all but will stand united as they have always stood in times of terror attack.
