The National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee has requested the Inspector General of Police Charles Boinett to arrest NYS saga key suspect Josephine Kabura and present her before the parliamentary committee.
This is after Kabura failed to show up twice despite being summoned by the committee which is probing the NYS saga.
PAC Chairman Nicholas Gumbo maintained that it is very critical for Kabura to tell her side of the story especially after swearing on an explosive affidavit linking former Cabinet Secretary of Devolution Anne Waiguru.
The PAC chair stated that her lawyers have written to the committee saying that they are unable to reach Kabura.
Kabura had placed Waiguru at the centre of the NYS scandal.
In a sixteen-page affidavit filed in court, Kabura, whose account received the money, described her alleged relationship with the former CS.
Kabura says that before the Sh791 million contract, Waiguru had assisted her to secure other contracts.
She described how she took Sh10 million to Waiguru’s house in Runda on August 26, 2015 which she was later told that the money will be used “to clean up her image.”
