[Photo|National Police Service]The Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has said he has no issue with the fishermen being arrested.This follows arrest of 17 fishermen by the Ugandan police in Lake Victoria on Sunday and Monday.Speaking after commissioning six Police Patrol Boats at the Maritime Police Unit in Kilindini, Boinnet said anyone arrested for any offense must face the law before they are released.He warned that anyone living in either sides, of Uganda or Kenya and breaks the law must be prepared to face the consequences.Boinnet unveiled the boats in Mombasa County, which will be used in the surveillance of various water bodies in the country. So far, Boinnet said a number of officers have received specialised training in South Korea on how to effectively utilize the boats to fight crime in the Kenyan waters.
