The Inspector General of the National Police Service Joseph Boinnet attended the inaugural Kenya Police College Open Day, the first of its kind in the history of Police in Kenya.
Police recruits showcased the skills that they have learnt in the new Police basic training curriculum which they will use to deliver policing services to Kenyans.
"The opening up of our training institutions to the public is part of our transformation agenda which will go a long way in instilling in our newly recruited officers the values of people centred policing through one-on-one interaction with members of public before they graduate," said the National Police Service on Saturday.
The event would be replicated at the General Service Unit Training School and the Administration Police Training College -Embakasi in the next few days.
"Our obligation as enshrined in the constitution is to train our officers to the highest standards of professionalism," the Service said in a communication.
