The impostor is using the name Kipchirchir Alfie.

His Facebook profile represents a police officer’s but police deny having such a member within their service.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet denied claims that the man is an officer in the police service as he claims on his Facebook account.

“He claims to be a police officer but he is not. We are looking for him and we urge anyone who knows him to help us know where he is,” said Boinnet as quoted by The Standard.

Besides posting offensive messages on his account, Kipchirchir also claims to be a field commander at the Kenya Police Training College in Kiganjo.

His profile on Facebook indicates that he worked at Presidential Escort Unit and studied at Meteitei High School in Nandi County.

The said Kipchirchir threatened Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi recently.

Other persons threatened and offended by the man are CORD leader Raila Odinga, MPs Mohamed Junet and Millie Odhiambo.

Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery had on Friday 6 warned social media users against violating the law even as postings of incitement and hate set pace ahead of the electioneering season.
