The National Police Service is in no business of helping the Jubilee government rig polls, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnett has said.

Speaking during a talk show on Citizen TV Wednesday night, the IG rebuffed claims by the opposition that the police force was kneck deep in Jubilee and was doing its bidding and said thatvif that were tge case then they would not be securing the opposition rallies.

"It is all lies. The police force is not kneck deep in Jubilee.Otherwise why do they let the police surround them.We secure their rallies and protect them.In fact lighting is an alien term in the police force," he told JKL Live.

Boinnett explained that two exercises held by the service at the Embakasi Garrison were not aimed at planning any mischief but was focussed on house keeping and to test their preparedness for the polls and also to react to acts of terrorism.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has time and again accused the police of being on the beck and call of the government claiming that they are out to help it rig the August 8 polls.
