A secondary and primary school from Bokimonge ward in Bomachoge Borabu sub-county will benefit from a borehole to be sunk by the Kisii County government.
Bokimonge Ward MCA, George Bibao said Kisii County government will sink a borehole at Endereti COG Mixed Secondary school to assist the school curb water and sanitation challenges.
Speaking at Endereti COG Mixed Secondary School on Wednesday, during a book donation ceremony at the school, Bibao clarified that the borehole project will help the school, the neighbouring primary school and the surrounding communities address their water challenges.
“I am happy to announce to you that the Kisii County government has surveyed for a water table point in this school to facilitate sinking of a borehole in the school, not only for the school alone but also to help the neighbouring primary school and surrounding communities access clean and safe drinking water,” said Bibao.
He commended the Kisii County administration for identifying the school as a beneficiary of the borehole project stating it will serve the wider community around the school.
He said that instead of students going to fetch water from distant water sources, they will utilise that time to concentrate on their studies.
