Youths from Bomachoge in Kisii County have accused Kisii county Deputy governor Joash Maangi for sidelining the region in terms of development.
The youths led by Justine Momanyi and Dennis Kamau on Tuesday said Maangi has been diverting development projects from the region to other areas.
They claimed that boreholes that were to be drilled in Bongera area were diverted to Maangi's home area.
"Maangi has proved to be a person who can't perform if elected as governor. He has diverted projects that were to be initiated in Bomachoge to other areas under unclear reasons," said Kamau.
"We are calling on governor James Ongwae to intervene and help us to even get job slots in the county," he added.
On his take, Momanyi accused Maangi for directing Kenya power to disconnect electricity from homes which were legally connected with power.
This he said happened last week and it was against the law.
"Last week Mr Maangi ordered Kenya power to disconnect electricity in various homes on grounds that they were illegally connected with electricity which is a pure lie," he said.
The youths who were speaking in Kisii town said that they would not trust Mr Maangi.
