Bomariba location in Kisii South sub-county has received a new chief to serve the locals after the retirement of long-serving chief Dismas Onsombi early this year.

Triposa Orina who has been serving as Keboye sub-location assistant chief was crowned the location chief in an exercise that was too competitive which locals of high profiles who had applied to fill the positions.

Through her Facebook page, Triposa thanked locals for their prayers through the whole exercise.

"To all my Facebook friends, be with me as I thank and praise the lord for the far he has brought me and my family. The vacant post of chief Bomariba has been filled, thank you I am now the new chief. Good day pals," she posted.

Triposa is the first woman to serve Keboye sub-location as assistant chief and now Bomariba location chief.

She is well known for her fight to end illicit brew business in Bomariba ward, domestic violence among other issues.
