The officers took the step to close down the institution after a 20 days’ notice they had given the institution’s management to ensure they build toilets for pupils elapsed.

Speaking on behalf of the other officers, Isaac Getega said that they visited the school only to find nothing has been done so far and they decided to close the institution for health reasons noting that that the toilets being used by the pupils were in very bad shape.

“We came to inspect this institution as public health officers and the situation we came across especially in the toilets the pupils were using was not good. They risked contracting diseases and so we gave the school management 20 days to build a new one,” he said.

He added: “We are now here and nothing has been done and we had to close the institution until they construct a new toilet.”

The school’s Deputy Head Teacher Mr Tom Nyamao,  said that they sent a letter to the Constituency Development Fund committee to ask for funds to build the toilets for the pupils but they have not yet received any communication.
