Bomas of Kenya, which will be used by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as the National Tallying Centre for the August elections, will be shut to public for two months.

According to a statement from the management, the closure will commence Saturday, July 1, and will continue until August 31.

“We wish to inform our esteemed clients that we will remain closed to the members of the public from Saturday 1st July 2017 to Thursday 31st August 2017,” read part of the statement.

“We shall resume normal operations on Friday 1st September 2017,” added the statement.

In a bid to enhance transparency, IEBC has said only accredited agents will be permitted to access the centre.
