Bomas of Kenya has been selected as the National Tallying Centre for 2017 general election hence will remain closed to the public to allow preparations for the upcoming polls.

According to the premise's authority, Kenyans would be allowed to access the building again from September 1.

“We will remain closed to the general public from Saturday 1st July, 2017 to Thursday 31st August, 2017 in preparation for conducting the General Election,” stated the management.

According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), only duly accredited agents will have access to Bomas in a bid to enhance transparency.

Meanwhile, the IEBC has invited those seeking accreditation to cover the August polls to send their application by end of July.The polls body assured that applicants would receive emails with a link to where they will enter their information and also upload passport photos.
