Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has said he will support the reelection of the Jubilee duo of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
Ruto was speaking in Narok on Thursday accompanied by Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno and Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot.
The three have been in the recent past seen as DP Ruto’s rebels.
“I do not see the reason why the DP should keep on fighting us yet we have no problem with the Presidency, he should understand that we support them but we are not ready to join the Jubilee Party,’’ the governor said.
The leaders said they are fully behind the re-election of Uhuru and Ruto urging Jubilee to allow other parties be.
"We are not fielding a Presidential candidate in 2017, we want to ensure that leaders who support more funds to the 47 counties are elected, the Deputy President may in future need the support of our party, so he should stop fighting us,’’ the Bomet county boss said.
They, however, said if the governor is rigged out in 2017, they will oppose DP Ruto’s presidency in 2022.
