Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has asked Deputy President William Ruto to prepare for a fierce battle in 2022 presidential election saying that he will not give him chance become President easily.
Addressing the public at Sachagwaan Secondary School on Saturday, the Governor said that his name will be on the ballot papers as a presidential candidate come 2022.
He said that Rift Valley people have shown confidence in him and want him to vie for the presidential seat come 2022.
“I want to tell the Deputy President William Ruto to prepare for a tough battle in 2022 presidential elections,” said the Governor.
Governor Ruto said that the Deputy President has failed Rift Valley people and he has allegedly become a political sycophant.
He alleged that the Deputy President is being used by some people to achieve their agenda while his own people are languishing in problems.
The Bomet Governor also accused Ruto of lacking political zeal and confidence in addressing national matters.
He said that the deputy President will have a rough time in politics come 2017 and beyond.
“I advise the Deputy President to 'hang up' his political boots because from 2017 onwards he has no political life,” said the Bomet Governor.
