A section of Rongai Constituency residents have expressed concern over political supremacy between Deputy President William Ruto and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.

Residents fear that the difference between the two may derail development in the area.

They accused Bomet Governor of trying to undermine the Deputy President leadership.

Of late governor Ruto has been quoted saying DP is dictator and who can not be trusted with country's leadership.

David Sigei, a businessman at Rongai Trading Center urged governor Ruto to stop interfering with DP.

 “Deputy President was elected by electorate to serve them and governor Ruto should give DP space to serve Kenyans,” said Sigei.

Residents say that continual divisive attacks by governor Ruto to DP would cause rift in the rich -vote block.

“We are unhappy with political wrangles in the Rift Valley. What we need is peace and our leaders should work for the benefits our our people,” said Mercy Chepkwony, a Rongai farmer.

Residents urged Bomet County boss to stick to his work at county level and stop interfering DP's work .

“Every leader has a role to play and they should respect one another,” said Peter Kitur, a bodaboda operator. 

Rongai residents further urged the waring leaders to forge a amicable relation and direct their efforts in solving the problems facing Kenyans like drought and alleviation of poverty . 

They also called on governor Ruto to respect deputy president if he want electorates to respect him.
