Both primary and secondary school teachers drawn from Bomet County have distanced themselves from political decisions made by KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion.
The trade unionist announced that he would rally support for Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga, arguing that NASA is the only outfit that represents the interests of teachers. But that decision appears to have brushed a section of teachers the wrong way.Led by Kuppet Bomet branch treasurer Richard Bett, the teachers observed that Sossion's move was personal, accusing him of using his position for selfish gains.
“We want to make it clear that we support the Jubilee administration at the moment,” he said.
Sossion has since been nominated to the National Assembly by Opposition party ODM to represent the interests of workers in parliament.
