Bonchari Constituency Member of Parliament Zebedeo Opore has assured banana farmers in the area of his support in reviving the deteriorating market of the product.
Addressing farmers at Ekerorano Market in the Bonchari sub county on Sunday, the MP said that farmers in the area should embrace technology, to make sure the area produces the best since the land favours them.
“I want to push for common market rates and new local crop management regulations for our bananas in the assembly so that we have a uniform price for our crops all-round the country. We should put credible people who we can entrust with our products,” he said.
He called on farmers to always seek advise from the county agricultural officers, so that they can boost their income through a better rise in their sales commodities.
“You are free to go for loans to expand your farms and this will see you get stable through farming, since farming has become a major source of employment and also a major source of income in the current times,” said Opore.
