Bonchari residents have been urged to report corrupt officials in the bursary issuing offices.
Bonchari CDF committee chairperson Richard Manono said they have received claims from the public that some CDF officials in the constituency have been promoting corruption by selling bursary forms which are supposed to be issued free of charge.
Manono said during a meeting in with Suneka sub-county residents, the people claimed that whenever they go to pick the forms they are told they are out of stock.
They claimed they are then referred to some people at the shopping centre who instantly supply the forms after receiving some bribes.
The CDF chairperson, however, said the forms are issued free of charge, therefore advising residents not to offer any money to obtain them.
“We are going to take an action to officials who are taking advantage of the office to exploit the common mwananchi, and those who will be caught will be prosecuted for such an offence,” said Manono.
He also added that the area residents should feel free and apply for the bursaries to enable their children get better education.
