Bullfighting is one of the rear games in Kenya, but very enjoyable among many, especially those in the Luhya community, where the game originated.

The game involves rearing bulls majorly for fighting or rather competing with other bulls. The bulls involved in this game are said to be the strongest.

They are normally exempted from usual day to day duties so that they preserve their energy until the competition day.

The game mostly happens after a set period of time, mostly after every three to four months. The time in between the fights is meant to give the fighting bulls time to recover from injuries and fatigue from the previous fights.

On Saturday, former Kakamega Senator, Dr. Boni Khalwale, prioritized his favorite game when he left his Kakamega home early to travel all the way to Shinyalu, where the game was being held.

His four year old bull named Malinya was the participants, and it emerged the overall winner.

he took to his social media pages to announce how happy he was to be part of the tournament.

"Early this morning I sped off on bodaboda from Malinya to Shinyalu to enjoy a bullfighting match and also talk to our people, one day..." tweeted Boni Khalwale.
