Human Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi was during the ‘Stop Killing Protesters’ march in Nairobi’s CBD hit by a teargas canister.

The police officer was caught on tape lobbing the canister, flooring Mwangi during the peaceful demonstrations.

The march was meant to protest against police brutality towards unarmed citizens.

NASA protesters have in the past weeks been shot dead or clobbered to death by police officers.

On Wednesday, a form four student was shot dead in Kisumu and his throat skit by the officer responsible.

Reports of police violence are believed to only be adding to the tension ahead of the October 26 poll.

Nasa leader Raila Odinga has said he is willing to reconsider his withdrawal from the race should the commission adhere to his demands.

"If proper consultations are done, proper reforms carried out and fears addressed we will reconsider,” he said.

Odinga met with the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati on Thursday.
