Activist Boniface Mwangi plans to lead street demos in Nairobi to protest over the killing of anti-IEBC protestors by police officers.

Together with other a group of civil rights activists, Mwangi will lead demonstrators in the city today to petition Inspector General Joseph Boinnet and acting Interior CS Fred Matiangi.

The demos will start from Freedom Corner at 11 am, through Kenyatta Avenue, Moi Avenue and end at Harambee House and Jogoo House.The demos come just days after a report by Amnesty International revealed that police officers killed at least 33 people in the post-election protests across the country.

In a letter seen by the media, Mwangi said they have asked police to provide security, adding that the demonstration is non-partisan.

He also c

autioned participants against misbehaviour during the event.

"No alcohol or pre-drinking. No violence. No weapons and no destruction or vandalism. Do not use threatening or abusive words or behave in a threatening manner towards others passing close to the picket line," he said.

"Beware of agent provocateurs. The agent may be paid or unpaid to incite people or do things that may cause a breach. Alert the police if you notice suspicious behaviour," he said.
