According to Mwangi, the standoff is an indication of how President Uhuru Kenyatta is afraid of Miguna and that is why the government is defying Court orders calling for the smooth return of the lawyer into the country.

In his view, the activist believes Miguna is a patriot who does not sugarcoat his words but rather speaks truth boldly.

"Truth be told, President @UKenyatta is very afraid of @MigunaMiguna. The government is defying court orders because they fear Miguna. Miguna doesn’t sugarcoat his words. Miguna speaks truth to power boldly. Miguna is a patriot," tweeted Mwangi on Tuesday.

Mwangi further reiterated that Miguna came back prepared as he was aware of the challenges he may experience while trying to be accepted back into the country.

"Then Miguna had been detained without food, water and he was tired. His spirit had been broken. This time Miguna came ready, well aware, no commercial airline will fly with an unruly passenger. Kenya police officers didn’t have legal orders and Dubai/Canadian visas to escort him," he added.

Miguna, a self declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general, jetted back into the country on Monday at 2:30 pm but has since been in a standoff with the Immigration Department due to lack of Kenyan passport.
