A report that was tabled in the National Assembly by the Committee on Appointments after the vetting of CS nominees indicated that the former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has a net worth of Sh360 million.

According to the report, Tobiko has investments in real estate, as well as agriculture and livestock.

In 2011, during the vetting for the position of DPP, Tobiko revealed that he was worth Sh80 million.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Mwangi wondered how Tobiko managed to amass Sh280 million in just seven years while working as a public servant.

“In 2011 a lawyer in private practice called Tobiko declared he was worth 80 million shillings during his vetting to become director of public prosecutions. In 2018, same Tobiko is worth 360 million shillings. He made Sh280 Million while in public office. We all know how!” read Mwangi’s tweet.

Responding to Mwangi’s tweet, a section of Kenyans hit out at the activist, asking him to provide evidence and raise the concerns through the relevant channels.

“But you decided to tweet about it instead of presenting your 'evidence' to the vetting panel,” tweeted Greg Waithakka.“

Where were you during the vetting? You might have facts but why not present them the right way?” asked Steve Kiboi.
