Kiambu Women Representative Ann Nyokabi has asked the county government to boost access to healthcare especially for women.

Speaking at Thika town on Monday, the Women Representative said that health care access remains a challenge especially to rural women.

She said that the county government must work towards making access to health care affordable to all residents.

“Kiambu government should makes sure that every resident especially women have access to affordable healthcare,” she said.

Nyokabi intimated that devolution of healthcare services was meant to ensure that every resident has access to it.

She added that Kiambu has a lot of funds that should be sued to procure modern equipment and medicine for the people.

The Women representative though lauded the national government initiative to scarp off maternity fees that was being charged on pregnant mothers saying it has seen many acess maternal care.

She urged women across the county to take advantage of the initiative and seek free maternal services at county public hospitals and health centers.
